Maggie needs a foster or a home
Meet Maggie. Maggie is a 2 year old female Great Pyrenees/golden retriever. She is a big, 100 pound fluffy girl and she loves to play with other dogs who like to play. She would be best in a home where she will not be challenged by a dominant dog, but she generally loves other dogs, especially the boys. Leave us a comment if you’re interested in her or click on the How Do I Adopt page for details on the process.

What kind of issues does she have with other dogs? I have a lab/pit mix male who is VERY laid back. He is neutered, I rescued him two years ago. I’m located in Upper Michigan, the Keweenaw Peninsula. Do you know of any transports that come up this way? We live in the country, on a lake. We have three children, 16, 12 and 9. How is she with kids? Thanks!

Jodi,
She has no real issues with other dogs, but I would not want to place her with a strongly dominant dog. She is fine with older kids – she’s big and bouncy so we don’t want to put her in a home with small children. There are some transports that run that direction, but I am not familiar with them.

Hi there…..
I live in Niantic Connecticut, and am interested in fostering/adopting a dog. I am not looking for a certain breed, I just want to save a life. I presently have a 4 yr old Pom/Maltese mix and a 7 mos old tabby cat. I would love to help this beautiful girl out, however I dont know if your willing to transfort all the way to CT. Let me know if this is possible.
Thank you,
Lisa

Lisa, Maggie would probably be a bad fit as she needs a bigger dog to play with than your pom mix, but we have lots of dogs in CT in need of fosters. I will send an email to you and copy the Ct coordiantor on it for you. Thanks for offering to help.

I’m in Georgia….I have 2 older cats who were raised with big dogs. I do have an Old English Sheepdog (male) and he’s quite large for this breed. He loves to play but is spoiled rotten (in a good way). I do travel some but have wonderful family and friends who come stay with my “zoo” as I do not board them. Your thoughts? Dudley is going to need a friend as the cats are very old.
