Molly the senior shepherd mix is long overdue for a home of her own
Molly is a sad case. She was rescued from the catastrophic Nashville floods in May of 2010. She was probably eight when we got her and she had been tied to a doghouse and left to fend for herself in the rising floodwaters. This poor girl had been bred repeatedly because her owners did not care enough to either fix her or bring her in when she went into heat and the vet estimates she had at least six litters of puppies before we got her, and possibly more. Molly was in terrible condition when we got her. She was underweight, malnourished, and just defeated in spirit. She was also heartworm positive. With time, attention and lots of care, she’s a happy senior these days, although she loves to give sad looks to the camera. Molly weighs in at a slightly chunky 60 pounds and her legs are on the stumpy side. We think she is a shepherd mixed with something with short legs, like maybe corgi, basset or possibly something like a cattle dog or even min pin. Molly is fostered with multiple dogs and cats and is just a sweetheart. She has excellent indoor manners and is quite spry at going on nine years old. She deserves a place of great happiness to spend her golden years after all she has endured. Molly is an honorary big fluffy dog and we are looking for the family who will love an old, black non-descript dog with a huge heart.
