Odd companions: Belle and Jeb need a foster home together

Kind of an odd pairing, we think.

Meet Jeb and his sister Belle. The two of them have been together all their lives and were turned in to a shelter together. We were asked to take Jeb, but under our No Dog Left Behind policy, Belle has come along as an honorary big fluffy.  Jeb is a very large, lazy and sweet Great Pyrenees, probably around 2. Belle appears to be older, maybe 4, and she appears to be a lab/dachshund mix (really). The two are completely devoted to each other and they must stay together. They do well with other dogs and cats and kids and are very well-mannered. If you think you can help AND you are in the middle Tennessee area or can get reasonably close, please email jean@bigfluffydogs.com.

Ridiculous cuteness: Possum, the pyr mix puppy

Just for Fun: How big are our dogs?

David is still a puppy.

Meet David. David is an 11 month old Great Pyrenees in rescue with us. He is obviously a good-sized dog, but appearances can be deceiving.

David checking in to the groomers.

This counter is 4 plus feet high. David easily reaches over. No sandwich on the counter is safe. When David realizes that it’s going to be a bath, he’s checking out the way out.

David would like to rethink the bath thing.

Keep in mind, he’s at an angle to the door and not at full extension. David is indeed a big, fluffy dog.

PS He is also adoptable this week.

Sinjin the special needs Newfie mix needs a New England foster home

Sinjin needs a special home

Meet Sinjin. This sweet boy is a not quite 6-year old Newfoundland mix. Sinjin was left in a crate for years before he came to rescue with the result that he developed obsessive-compulsive disorder and spins in circles barking and biting at himself when stressed. Sinjin does very well with other dogs, cats and he loves children. Once he gets settled in to a place, the behaviors reduce and eventually stop. This dog needs stability and a calm environment. He is well-behaved in the home and is perfectly housebroken.  This boy is currently in New England and needs a foster or forever home that is patient and understanding. Sinjin has suffered greatly and he deserves a home of his own. If you are interested in Sinjin, please email jean@bigfluffydogs.com.

Honorary fluffies: Henry the mangy puppy needs a Tennessee foster home

Henry needs a foster home and time to recuperate

This is one of our sadder cases. Henry is 5 months old and weighs around 12 pounds. We have no idea what his mix is, but I would not be surprised if he had some dachshund in his ancestry. It is safe to say he is not one of our usual dogs. Henry was rescued out of the tornadoes from April and came to us in absolutely miserable condition with severe demodectic mange. His skin was cracked and bleeding and we weren’t sure he would make it. Fast forward to today and he still looks awful, but to us, he looks amazing. Henry lives to play with other puppies. He is not contagious in any way and he just needs time, medicine and love. He needs a foster home in the middle Tennessee area. If you can help foster him, please email jean@bigfluffydogs.com.

If you would like to sponsor his care, you can do so here: http://bigfluffydogs.chipin.com/sponsor-henry. Thanks as always!

Bart the Saint Bernard needs a foster home in New England

Bart is a big bouncy puppy

Meet Bart. This barely a year old Saint Bernard boy needs a foster (or forever) home as his Mom is leaving for a vacation. Bart needs playful dog friends and someone to give him puppy tummy rubs. This is a big puppy and he plays like a puppy. Homes with squashable dogs (yorkies, etc) will not work as he will play with (and squash) them. He is an absolute love for big dog people. If you are interested, please email elizabeth@bigfluffydogs.com. Bart is currently in CT.

Lily needs a New England foster home

Lily needs a foster home in New England

Meet Lily. Lily is a 2 year old collie/lab? mix in rescue as an honorary big fluffy. Lily is quite the survivor as she was originally rescued from the catastrpohic 2010 Tennessee floods and then she survived parvo shortly after that. Lily is now a healthy, happy and bouncy dog who is looking for a foster or forever home in New England.  She weighs in around 60 pounds, is housebroken, excellent with other dogs and cats and little kids.  If you are interested in Lily, please email jean@bigfluffydogs.com.

Ridiculous cuteness: Jemma and her puppies need a foster home in middle Tennessee

I need a foster home

Meet Jingles (*temporary name only), who is one of seven puppies who came in with their Mom Jemma last week. Jingles and her siblings are about four weeks old. They were about to be euthanized at the shelter because they had an upper respiratory infection and we took them in. They are all on the mend now and looking for a foster home for the next few weeks while they get fat and learn puppy lessons from their Mom. Right now, they need a middle Tennessee foster home. If you can help foster these guys, please email jean@bigfluffydogs.com.

Mom is skinny and needs dinner and spa day and she'll be gorgeous again

If you would like to sponsor Jemma and her puppies, you can donate here for their care:http://bigfluffydogs.chipin.com/jemma-and-puppies

I'm pretty cute too

Ridiculous cuteness: Oscar needs a home

Oscar is not a grouch

Meet Oscar. Oscar is a 12 week old border collie mix puppy that some jerk literally threw in a dumpster. One good Samaritan brought him to us and he is a happy, healthy puppy now looking for his forever home. This puppy is perfectly wonderful and is social, active and outgoing. This is a perfect family dog for someone who wants a smart, active medium-sized dog. If you are interested, leave a comment or email elizabeth@bigfluffydogs.com.

Fonzie (fyi – we are  not responsible for naming him) is a cute, fluffy, solid black ball of fur that looks like a black bear cub with pointier ears. Fonzie is friendly, outgoing and sweet. Cecil is ready for his forever home

Cecil is a big, happy 4 year old male Great Pyrenees. He was rescued from a shelter in Tennessee when his farm was shut down and he found himself without a home. Jared is looking for a foster or forever home

Jared is 10 weeks of puppy cuteness

Meet Jared, a 10-12 week old border collie/Great Pyrenees mix puppy. What can we say? He’s adorable. He is looking for a forever home in New England, but he needs a foster home for now. If you are interested, please email elizabeth@bigfluffydogs.com.

Charlie the Great Pyrenees needs a New England foster home

Charlis is a big happy boy now

Meet Charlie, a 4-5 year old male Great Pyrenees. Charlie came to us with the most enormous tumor we’ve ever seen. Fortunately, it was benign but he had a long recovery. Charlie loves other dogs, cats and kids. He needs a foster home or forever home with a wood fence (he can scale chain link) and preferably, with someone home. He adores being outside and just having his nose in the wind. He has impeccable manners in the house. This is Great Pyrenees and he wants a job, so be prepared to tell him what to do. This is an amazing dog. If you can help foster him, please email elizabeth@bigfluffydogs.com or jean@bigfluffydogs.com.

Sarah needs a home

Sarah is looking for a home

Meet Sarah, a 3 year old female German Shepherd mix. Sarah is a happy, well-adjusted girl and we can’t believe no one has snapped her up yet. She loves to go for runs and she adores her people. If you like the German shepherd breed, this is a good pick. She needs someone who knows how to handle this breed and give her the exercise and mental stimulation this very smart girl needs. If you are interested in meeting her, please email elizabeth@bigfluffydogs.com. This girl is in New England.

Sarah is a happy girl

April is looking for a home

April the Great Pyrenees mix is looking for a home

Meet lovely April! She’s a 70lb leggy blonde whose main goal in life is to follow you around and make you happy.  April is a sweet overgrown pup at just under 2 years old, but she’s intelligent and dignified enough to enroll in college this fall!  Great with other dogs, cats, and even her foster mom’s 3 month old son, April’s motto in life is to fit in wherever she goes. She is full of energy when out on adventures, then content to lay at your feet when you want to relax. April REALLY wants to find her home!  She’s been bounced around too much in her young life, and she needs to be convinced that she will never be left again. All she needs is a place where she can wrestle with a dog buddy (or two+), have lots of time with her humans, and believe once and for all that she is home for good. If you are interested, email elizabeth@bigfluffydogs.com.

Bailey the golden retriever/spaniel mix is looking for a home

Bailey is a 2 year old male golden retriever/spaniel mix who was rescued from a shelter devastated by the tornadoes in April. Bailey does well with other dogs and cats and is an all-around great dog. At 50 pounds, he’s not overly large. If you are interested in adopting Bailey, please email Elizabeth at elizabeth@bigfluffydogs.com.
