How Do I Adopt One of These Dogs?
If you are interested in adopting a dog, you can fill out an application here: http://www.bigfluffydogs.com/online-app.php. Big Fluffy Dog Rescue is in many states from Maine to Tennessee, Kentucky and soon to be in Illinois. We are run by unpaid volunteers who love dogs. You can find out more about the adoption process here: http://www.bigfluffydogs.com/adoption.php. Leaving a comment here will also likely get you a response, but our Facebook site is always a good place to post looking for a coordinator. We thank you for your interest in adopting a big fluffy dog.

I saw General Tucker on facebook, and just fell in love with him.I would love to adopt him, but I live in North Carolina on the Crystal Coast ans didn’t know if that was a concern or not. Please think about this and let me adopt Tucker he will have a gret loving home and plenty of room to run.

How much does an adoption cost? I am trying to get my siser to adopt and she really wants to but is concerned with the cost? thank you for your help – I have two great pyreenes and they are the greatest dogs. So much love

Sandy, it depends on where she is. Transport is a huge part of the adoption fee ($150) but if she is in an area where the dog originates from and no transport is needed, then there’s no transport fee as part of the adoption cost. The best info on the FAQs of adoption is here: http://www.bigfluffydogs.com/adoption.php. All of our dogs leave us completely vetted down to the microchip. Thanks for considering rescue.

Do you require fenced or large yards to the people you adopt dogs out to? I originate from a rural area in NY and always had larger dogs (like akitas) and would love to adopt a big fluffy dog if I could. Where I live now in Ct is a lot more suburban. I have a narrow side yard and would have to keep my dog on a leash. Would I even have a chance?? Thanks!

Not every dog needs a fenced yard. Some dogs won’t respect a fence. It all depends on the dog. If we say the dog must have a fence, we mean it, but otherwise, you would be more than welcome to adopt.

Hello, I posted on your facebook and sent an email. Would love to help. I could foster Sarah or Lucibeth, pay for transport, other fees. I have a 4 year old son, a newly adopted smaller dog (loving, good with cats/dogs/kids/everyone), 5 fenced acres. I have filled out an application a few weeks ago.
Also, Noah, on petfinder – is he still available? I don’t see him anywhere but on petfinder.
Would love to help! I appreciate all you do.
Regards,
Lauren

I wanted to know if Amelia the service dog is still able to do other things other than hol some ones weight? I have wanted a service dog but never needed one to do alot of things, so I never checked into it. Would she require a fenced yard?
April 17, 2011 at 4:31 pm
Amelia is in need of a full retirement home. Her back legs are prone to giving out on her when she gets rambunctious and she is nearly deaf. She is happy and content in the house, but she is definitely not a candidate for anyone who wants her to do any more work. She’s simply too old to do more than ramble about the yard, eat treats and get petted.
